WE’RE MOVING!

This is a bittersweet moment, but we are soooo looking forward to what is to come!   After over 12 years at our beautiful downtown location, it’s time to bid a farewell!!  We love our little store so much and will miss it dearly, but we have grown so much, we are busting at the seams here! It’s a great problem to have and we are so blessed to have so much love and support from our Clients, old & new!

As we begin a new chapter in SassyCake history, we ask for your patience and understanding! We know some of our clients are so excited for us to move to North Naples!- which is the feedback I needed while making this decision! & to my downtown families, we are offering free delivery to our loyal patrons, so have no worries! We aren’t moving too far!

our new address will be:

1030 COLLIER CENTER WAY #5, Naples FL, 34110

Our last day for orders will be July 3rd. Then we begin the packing and moving process!

This exciting move will unfortunately prevent us from taking order until we are up and running in the new space!  & At this time, I do not have an exact date- but will be keeping everyone updated everyday on Instagram and Facebook– so be sure your following us!!! I am hoping for end of August!

I will be next to my phone and email all summer, so do not hesitate to reach out with questions or orders for  the fall!

Our new kitchen will be much bigger, allowing us to take more order each week!! which is sooo huge for us! In the past we have filled up so quickly due to lack of space. So we are building a larger team & organizing a larger kitchen- because we are soooo ready for season to kick our butts 😉

I just wanted to thank everyone again, for the constant love and support over the years and allowing me to live my dream each day! I am so blessed and proud to see SassyCakes grow and become a staple at your family’s birthdays and events. It makes my heart so happy!

see you at the new space!

 xoxo, Jazmine

Cake Cutting Tips!

what you need:

  • cutting board or large dinner plate
  • sharp knife
  • dessert/serving plates

the video is a lot easier to understand than reading that instructions, but they are listed below anyways if it helps 🙂

  1. cut one straight slice though the cake (eye balling it, you want to get at least 4-6 strips of cake)
  2. Place this slab of cake onto your cutting board & simply slice your servings from this strip! 2, 3, 4 however many you feel will provide the best size serving for your guests.
  3. Slide these slices onto your serving plates & repeat!

BOOM, it’s that easy! It makes the job quicker, easier & there is always less wasted cake. So you can cut grandpa his tiny slice & dad can have his cake hunk ;P

now to provide you with some other cake caring tips!!

  • Travel with your cake on a flat surface & keep car cool during transport.
  • Store your cake in the refrigerator overnight or for long periods of time.
  • Remove cake from the refrigerator at least 2 hours prior to serving, cake is best at room temperature.

if you made it to the end, thank you! thanks for caring about your cake experience as much as I do! LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!

The Sweet-side of the Sass!

But here I am, typing away on 11AM on a Monday! So, let’s take it back to where it all started. I’ve always LOVED baking. I remember almost every weekend as a little kiddo we would make funfetti box cake, brownies, cookies- you name it. It was a love of mine for as long as I can remember. My cousin, Lacie, has a memory of asking me what I wanted to be when I grew up… my answer was “I want to be a baker at the Publix bakery” heheh, but hey, I at least knew I had a passion for baking. (also, peep the cutest photo ever of my and my little sister from way back when!)

Fast forward to when I about to turn 16. It was my GOAL to have a stand kitchen aid mixer.  I asked both of my grandmothers for a Kitchen aid that year, and apparently they didn’t communicate on gift giving, so for my 16th birthday… I got 2! If you can only IMAGINE my excitement!!!

I baked everyday. Anything and everything. I would watch the food network after school, take notes, write down recipes. I would get inspiration online for flavors and I would even create cake menus and business models. I was committed. From that point on, my answer to the question “what do you want to be when you grow up”, was I WANT TO OWN A BAKERY. My senior year of high school i started a Facebook business JazzyCakes, all my friends and family would order cakes for their birthdays. I had little business cards printed up and everything.

Off to college I went, FGCU. GO EAGLES! I was Hospitality major & my junior year they required an internship in a food establishment. Searching though the lists of companies offering a position I saw SassyCakes. ARE YOU KIDDING?! I emailed immediately, and not so patiently waited for a response. I was soon anxious and excited and it seemed like a dream come true to even work in a real bakery setting. I’m telling you guys i thought it couldn’t get any better than that! (boy was a silly) As it is probably obvious, yes I get hired for the intern position- I learned so much, I was in my element, I literally though i had the best job ever.

About 2 months in, the owner expressed to me she was going to be selling the bakery. I think I cried the whole way home. My boyfriend at the time, now my husband, Geoff, (who is clearly the brains) said, isn’t your dream to OWN a bakery? hello? Why couldn’t see fate knocking on my door!

So, with the help and support of amazing loving hubby & the rest of our families, we bought SassyCakes on January 1st, 2014. 16 short days after my 21st birthday I might add… and the rest is history! Bringing us today, I get to live my dream. PINCH ME!! My goal is to cake the world a better place, one Sassy Cake at a time 🙂
